This is our story. It might not be exciting to some, but we think it is THRILLING... most of the time. Life is flying by too fast and this is our attempt to stop and capture the good nuggets in our lives. You may notice a trend in these posts... it may have to do with our favorite little nuggets currently sitting center stage in everything we do, think, and live.

Hope you enjoy and leave a comment or two!

Girls' night + a little man

Having a baby changes your life BIG TIME.  But not everything.  So when girls' night rolled around and I realized Kevin would be traveling for work, I decided the show must go on.  I could have cancelled in favor of sticking to our evening routine and everyone would have understood, but what fun would that have been.  Instead, I grabbed the little man, ran home to walk and feed Roxie, packed food, a spoon, a bib, a sippy cup, cheerios, a bottle, and toys (well a kitchen spoon and TV remote that we call "toys"), and trudged out into the heat with a baby, 2 bags, a purse, and a stroller.  After a sweaty run into the store for munchies to share, we were off to Fairfax to our dear friends Lindsey and Matt's house.

Lindsey,  our ever fabulous host, had yummy wines and a delicious spread (made in her amazing new kitchen! There was total envy going on!).

She also graciously let the little guy tear the place up.  He was into everything and I quickly taught the girls to play "defense" in an effort to protect wine glasses, plates, food, camera, and electronics.  This boy is exhausting and even with 7 girls we still had to fish him out from under chairs, off the steps and away from electrical plugs.  It is so fun to get all the girls together.  I love that we have 3,256 conversations going at once and the volume crescendos into a dull roar and we laugh, and scream and share hilarious and heartwarming friendship.  And of course, I couldn't get enough of my girls loving on our little man (even if he didn't want to sit still for one second!).

I kept him up and happy as long as I could so I could enjoy the conversation and food, but by 8:30 the little guy was ready for bed.  Kisses from all his aunties and we were off.  He was asleep before we left the neighborhood and I was happy to have a fun night with my favorite girls (and little man).
