So after a week, little man threw up twice, went to urgent care 3 times, had a fever for 6 days, went on a hunger strike for 2 days.... and cried ZERO times. My super happy, super sick baby. I was stressed because I was supposed to leave him behind for a 2-night girlfriend weekend in Virginia Beach. Friday I checked his temp 3,456 times to make sure he was actually over his virus. Not that daddy wouldn't take the BEST care of Nugget, but the "mommy guilt" would have consumed me if I left him still sick. I would not have had a good time and would probably never forgive myself. So with a happy heart and healthy baby I jumped in the car with my girls and headed south to Virginia Beach.
I did miss my little guy a lot. Daddy said Chase missed his mommy and looked for me everywhere....
I didn't take a ton of pics during our girls weekend; mostly because I didn't trust myself with a camera, gimpy leg, and sand. It was over 110 degrees this weekend and the locals thought we were insane for lugging all our crap to the beach for what we thought would be about 1 hour of "frying time" before the heat would win and we would retreat to the pool. BUT, a couple of beach chairs by the water's edge and an on shore breeze and we were golden. So much fun!
Saturday night we ate some great seafood at a local place and commenced bar hopping. The local drink is called an "Orange Crush" and is made from orange vodka, triple sec, sprite and fresh squeezed orange juice. They were very good and surprisingly refreshing! This momma stayed out way past her bedtime... and had a blast!
Sunday I couldn't drive fast enough to get home to the boys. The boys had so much fun, Daddy can't wait for me to leave again. Sometimes I worry I might smother Chase because I hold him so tight and love him so much. I can't get enough of our boy. We are so lucky.
