Armed with a million snacks and lots of iPad entertainment, we happily made our way to Pop Pop and Mee-ma's house in Ohio. Chase was such a good boy and the only "issue" we had was my mistake. During a pit stop, I thought Chase would enjoy a few sips of a chocolate milkshake as a treat. I didn't imagine he would eat 3/4 of it and only stop after I pried it out of his hands.
He slept great on a full belly, but not long after his nap, did the chocolate milkshake return... all over him... and me. We handled the disaster with ease, hosing him (and the car seat) off with bottled water, spraying air freshener, and a grabbing a clean set of clothes. Chase was historical at first, until he realized that there was a construction site across from the gas station we stopped at. So here we were, naked toddler on a blanket in the grass, next to a gas station, happily watching construction trucks while we clean everything up... what a site! hahaha!
After that bump in the road, we were off again- happy as can be. Lesson learned-- no more road trip milkshakes! hahaha!
We settled into Mee-ma and Pop Pop's house laughing and playing. Chase followed Pop Pop around like a puppy. He just loves his Pop Pop, especially his lawn mower. Chase watched every move Pop Pop made as he mowed the back yard, and even took a "break" with Pop Pop to rest.
Saturday we grabbed lunch and did some baby registering for Megan before the big graduation party. The Homans had a lot to celebrate since Kevin, Megan and I were all graduating from Masters' and Law programs! Despite the overwhelming school-achievement theme, whenever Chase sees a cake he breaks into song... "birthday to you, birthday to you..."
Our visit was over too soon, but it wasn't all that sad, since Mee-ma, Pop Pop and Big Mee-Ma (yes Chase name Great grandma, "Big Mee-ma" despite her tiny frame... and she is proud of it!) were coming back home with us. Nana was closed for vacation which meant Chase got to spend a week with his grandparents and great grandparents.
While we worked and slaved away, Chase had a blast playing with Mee-ma, Big Mee-ma, and Pop Pop. They played with chalk and bubbles, took lots of walks, fed the ducks and rode his bike.
The biggest hit was their visit to the Air and Space Museum.... which blew his mind. His voice was horse by the time they got home from yelling out "air pane" and "big air pane" every second! They even got to too the shuttle Discovery which just arrived a few weeks ago! Needless to say he was a happy boy.
And of course, once we got home, there was still plenty of fun to be had playing with his water table, and goofing around for as many laughs as he could get!

I love the close up of Chaseman riding his scooter. It looks like it should be in a magazine or commercial!! He's so precious.
