This is our story. It might not be exciting to some, but we think it is THRILLING... most of the time. Life is flying by too fast and this is our attempt to stop and capture the good nuggets in our lives. You may notice a trend in these posts... it may have to do with our favorite little nuggets currently sitting center stage in everything we do, think, and live.

Hope you enjoy and leave a comment or two!

BiiiiiG tucks and our new garden

Friday we picked Chase up early from daycare.  We were giddy with excitement.  Seeing how much fun he had at the Fairfax touch-a-truck day a few weeks back, I scoured the internet to find another one.  I quickly realized that most of the towns have a "truck day" in the spring time.  Jackpot!

We met up with a couple of friends and their kids and had a blast jumping on different trucks and honking horns.  It was made even better with the mini construction hats everyone was wearing.  We topped off the fun with dinner at a local diner that is known for a family-friendly atmosphere (and happy to have 3 crazy toddlers running all over the place)!

As we approached each new truck.  Chase proudly called out its name.  "Digga"  "Ro-yar"  Dunk Tuk" and for the one he didn't know he hardly missed a beat before calling out "Biiiiiiiiig Tuk"!!!

Saturday we planned to build a raised bed garden.  I was a bit nervous.  See, my Poppie was an excellent gardener.  He always had a huge garden in his backyard with more plants sprouting under lights in his basement.  He grew perfectly ripe tomatoes, squash, and peppers.  But me?  Black thumb.  He would be rolling over in his grave.  So, with fingers crossed and channeling my Poppie we set to build and plant a garden.  We did have help though.... in the form of a of a two-foot water boy.  See, Chase has been "learning" about gardening using his sensory box that I designed as a little garden.

The garden itself took no time to construct.  Seriously, we popped Chase in his swing with a juice box and gold fish while we dealt with the nasty grass killer, landscape fabric, and frame.  In about 45 minutes we were all done and ready for water.

That's where the water boy comes into the plan.  He is such a good helper.

Because I have been so slow in posting.... here is a shot from today (almost 1 month later).  Our water boy has been doing a good job!  The veggies are just starting to sprout!
