This is our story. It might not be exciting to some, but we think it is THRILLING... most of the time. Life is flying by too fast and this is our attempt to stop and capture the good nuggets in our lives. You may notice a trend in these posts... it may have to do with our favorite little nuggets currently sitting center stage in everything we do, think, and live.

Hope you enjoy and leave a comment or two!

party of 2 for Miami

Yep, that's right.  We ditched the kid and jumped on a plane for a little extra vacation and Esther's wedding!  We took advantage of Mee-ma and Pop Pop's generosity and spent 4 glorious day soaking up the sunshine while they got lots of cuddling time with Chase.

Mee-ma and Pop Pop arrived Wednesday night leaving us just enough time to run through the important things like where we keep the bubbles and sidewalk chalk.  We got updates along the way and it was obvious everyone was having a blast, including the dogs!

Thursday morning we were in the air on the way to sunny Miami!

We spent 4 days soaking up the sun, enjoying friends, and staying out WAY too late!  It was so nice not to have any responsibility and just fall back into our old "two note" rhythm.  It made Kevin and I both so happy to know we are totally in sync and haven't let the time-consuming nature of having a family detract from what it means to be us.  And of course, we missed Chase desperately.... but maybe not until day 3! hahaha!  But there were many distractions to keep us smiling, including the beautiful wedding of our dear friends.

Meanwhile, back in Virginia, Mee-ma, Pop Pop, and Chase we having a good 'ole time.  They watched the constructions trucks across the street building a new apartment complex.  Chase is a huge fan of trucks, especially construction vehicles, so seeing them up close and in person just blows his tiny mind. He knows the "dig-ga (digger)," "rola (roller)," "bo-do (bulldozer)," and "agua truk (water truck)."

They read lots of books and spent hours blowing bubbles on the back deck.  Chase also became very smitten with their dog Nittany and had no trouble adding "neet nee" to his vocabulary list.  Mee-ma did her best to explore new foods with Chase, and we applauded her for her effort, but Chase stuck to his hot dogs and butternut squash.  Oh well.

Sunday we couldn't get home fast enough as we waited for Grandpa to pick us up from the airport.  To our surprise, there was a stow away as Chase and Mee-ma decided to surprise us as well.  It took all my power not to unbuckle my little nugget out of his car seat and hug him the whole way home, but I made do with smothering kisses in the safety of his car seat.  What a fun weekend for everyone.
