This is our story. It might not be exciting to some, but we think it is THRILLING... most of the time. Life is flying by too fast and this is our attempt to stop and capture the good nuggets in our lives. You may notice a trend in these posts... it may have to do with our favorite little nuggets currently sitting center stage in everything we do, think, and live.

Hope you enjoy and leave a comment or two!

Aunt Megan and Uncle Andy come to play

This weekend Chase spent hours snuggling with Aunt Megan and watching March Madness with Uncle Andy.  Megan was off from law school for spring break, which made for the perfect long weekend visit for all of us.

Thursday afternoon I raced to pick Chase up from Nana's, so excited to see his face when he spied familiar faces waiting for him at home.  What I didn't expect, is a not so familiar face when I picked him up.  Wild Man decided to pick a fight with a crib-- toddler "fight club" style.  No one saw him do it, but best guesses had him tripping/falling face first into crib rails.  Nana was so upset by the bruises and scrapes.  I chalked it up to.... there will be many more like it.  After assuring Nana that Chase would be just fine, we took our tough-guy looks home.

Megan welcomed Chase with even more kisses (if that is even possible) on his little boo-boos.  Chase showed off his mo-mo (motorcycle/tricycle) as we toured the neighborhood in some very unseasonable warm weather!

The rest of the evening was low key, allowing Megan and Andy to soak up all the fun with little man.  Bath time was especially adventurous and wet :).  We also introduced M&A to our nightly post-bath neighborhood walks, which are the right combination of fresh air and calm baby breaths.

Friday was the most spectacularly warm and sunny day.  We spent every waking minute outside soaking it all up.  Chase showed off his impressive vocabulary, naming all the cars, trucks, bikes and planes that went by, as well as all the animals we saw.  Uncle Andy successfully increased Chase's vocabulary as Chase proudly called out "Ann DEE" anytime Uncle Andy was in eyesight.  Poor Aunt Megan couldn't catch a break.  Not only did Chase struggle with Megan's name, but when she would walk up early to spend the wee hours of the morning with him, Chase would only ask, "Ann Dee?" awaiting her "other half" to arise and play.  We did finally hear a squeaky "Me han" before the weekend was out.

We took advantage of the sun while chowing down on some of our favorite Mexican food.  Chase surprised us all with diving spoon first into a heaping bowl of guacamole.

After lunch Chase's head exploded when he saw a real-live-school-bus!!!!  He is so stoked about school buses and was even toting his school bus monster truck in hand.  So we had to snap a picture while he cheered "Skooo baaaa."  Success.

The Friday-fun continued when we pulled out the new water table M&A gave Chase for his first birthday.  It had been stored all winter patiently waiting for its debut.  And what a debut it had.  Chase was over the moon excited to splash and splash.  He didn't hesitate to jump right in, literally. He splashed, he cheered, we laughed.  Unicorns do exist and they danced on our deck all afternoon.

We all slept well after a long day of intense fun.

Saturday greeted us with cold, windy rain.  Mother Nature cancelled our planned Easter Egg hunt at the local park, but that was ok. We had plenty more to keep us busy.  One of my dear friend's little boy was turning one and there was lot of celebrating to do!  So we dragged poor M&A to a first birthday party! haha!  They were good sports, and let's be honest, it won't be long until they are knee deep in the baby-birthday-party scene!

The party decor was adorable and only over-shadowed by the cheek-squeezing adorableness of the man of the hour.  We laughed and played with all our friends and it wasn't long until the big "cake-smash" moment.

Colin did not disappoint.  Of course, he is the son if an avid lover of cupcakes, so I am sure it is in the genes, but little man dug right in!  Chase lopped off the frosting and took bird bites of his cupcake, so all went as expected.

The rest of the weekend was spent with Megan and Andy, maaaaybe practicing saying "Megan" and getting "Ann-Dee" return.  We played ball and read books and soaked up all the family time we could.  It was a great weekend.
