This is our story. It might not be exciting to some, but we think it is THRILLING... most of the time. Life is flying by too fast and this is our attempt to stop and capture the good nuggets in our lives. You may notice a trend in these posts... it may have to do with our favorite little nuggets currently sitting center stage in everything we do, think, and live.

Hope you enjoy and leave a comment or two!

A Patriarch

We had some sad news over Thanksgiving.  Kevin's Grandfather, Matthew Hamilton, passed away.  Though it did not come as a surprise, we were devastated.

Grandpa was the Patriarch of the family and larger than life.  Anyone who ever met him, never forgot him.  He filled up the room with his stunning blue eyes, boisterous voice, and kisses for everyone.

On your birthday, Grandma and Grandpa would call and the conversation would start with a lively rendition of "Happy Birthday" with some added "Haacha- kaaacha- cootie-dootie-coo" at the end.

Grandpa didn't merely exist on this earth, he LIVED.  He lived an active lifestyle, loved his family, and truly enjoyed every day.

When Kevin and I were married, Grandma and Grandpa wrote us a letter with a few tips to a happy marriage.  We took it to heart and live by their rules.  After 64 years of marriage, we know we will succeed if we stay the course.

When Chase was born, there was no question that he would carry Grandpa's namesake.  Chase Matthew Homan.  And he was blessed with Grandpa eyes, so when we look in those stunning baby blue eyes, wide open, taking in the world, we know we have a little bit of Grandpa with us always.

We love you Grandpa.
