With the new baby we knew there was no chance we were getting to State College for a Penn State game, so JoPa brought the game to us. Penn State was playing at FedEx field and the IYBs all got tickets to the game. With the help of Grantudy and Gramps, I mustered my courage and left Chase for any measurable amount of time the first time. I planned the trip like I was going to war. Every moved was calculated and timed so I could pump, cool, store, and transport my milk. It was imperative I didn’t go too long between pumping or risk pain and spillage!
After a strategic departure after Nugget's morning feeding, we arrived at the tailgate early. One quick car pumping session later, we joined the IYBs for some fun tailgating on a November football Saturday(I never envisioned breast milk and tailgating in the same sentence!).
Of course I had to check in with G&G a few times, but they were having a ball with the baby and everyone was doing fine and cheering on the blue and white.
The Nittany Lions crushed Indiana in a great game and we acted like two young college kids rather than two old parents.
We had so much fun seeing all our friends and vowed to do it again every year, no matter how old we got or how many babies we have to juggle! I felt like super woman on the way home. I was proud of myself for letting lose and enjoying the day (and for pumping at a tailgate!).
