This is our story. It might not be exciting to some, but we think it is THRILLING... most of the time. Life is flying by too fast and this is our attempt to stop and capture the good nuggets in our lives. You may notice a trend in these posts... it may have to do with our favorite little nuggets currently sitting center stage in everything we do, think, and live.

Hope you enjoy and leave a comment or two!

We made it! 1 month old!!

Happy 1 month birthday baby Chase!  We can't believe our little nugget is a month old already! I am going to smugly say we deserve a pat on the back!

You are starting to stay awake longer, which means the crying lasts longer.  The reflux meds seem to be helping a bit though this horrible colic is still holding steady!  And you eat all the time!  I knew babies ate a lot, but I am exhausted keeping up with your schedule.  You are eating every 1.5 hours and when you aren't eating, you are crying, CRYING, CRY-ING!  And then I am crying! But despite all the tears and wailing, we love you so much and are already have a hard time remembering what life was like before you chose us to be your parents.  We are so lucky.

Some promising news is that you have your days and nights figured out for the most part and are sleeping for about 3-4 hours at a time.  I check on you constantly as you sleep beside me in your pack n' play.  You sleep pretty well in your snuggly swaddle and when you wake up, Daddy comes to get you and change your diaper before I feed you in bed.  You are pretty good about going right back to sleep, but you have your moments too.  And when the moments comes... it is usually a good 45min-1hour of rocking, shhhhh-ing, white noise (three cheers for iTunes "hair dryer" track!), and sometimes tears (on my part).  But we are getting by and it is totally worth it. Most of the time.

I pray every day for the colic to go away.  We are going back to the doctor this week because I don't know what to do to help you.  The reflux meds help a little, but I am just so convinced that you are in pain because I can't imagine a baby crying so constantly for no reason.  We have gotten lots of support and words of encouragement, but it is still so hard and such a long road to go before the colic will go away!  UGH!

Tonight we went to Brian and Lauren's wedding.  It was a beautiful church with great acoustics as you wailed during the vows.  My high heels couldn't tap down the isle fast enough to get you out of there and into another room to feed.   You were quite popular with the ladies and danced with your mommy before we headed home at the wee hours of 8:30 PM! hahaha  Boy how times have changed.
