This is our story. It might not be exciting to some, but we think it is THRILLING... most of the time. Life is flying by too fast and this is our attempt to stop and capture the good nuggets in our lives. You may notice a trend in these posts... it may have to do with our favorite little nuggets currently sitting center stage in everything we do, think, and live.

Hope you enjoy and leave a comment or two!

Lucy turns 3

This weekend we were in Richmond again for Lucy's birthday party.  But before we could party.... we first need to recap our "exciting" trip down....

We drove to Richmond on Friday afternoon. Nana had the kids ready and waiting when we arrive so we could just pop them in the car in hopes to beat the traffic.  About 25 minutes from Aaron's house, Whitney had HAD it and was fussing like crazy.  I un-gracefully wedged myself between the car seats in the back (not meant for a full size human) and proceeded to feed her a food pouch.  I commented to Kevin, “ya know, I think Nana fed her while she was strapped in her car seat waiting for us earlier.  She has sweet potato all over the straps, her thighs, and face and sophie the giraffe is covered in dried sweet potato scum.”  I told him I was going to ask Nana not to feed Whitney in her car seat since she made such a mess.  About 15 minutes later, Whitney is SCREECHING and not happy.  I cannot figure out why.  Until she contorts herself to the side and I see a rather large pond of baby poo she is wading in, in the bottom of her car seat.  And then it dawns on me that Nana did not feed her in the car seat.  All that sweet potato… on her straps, thighs, face, hair, my hands, Sophie (in her MOUTH) is BABY POO!!!!  GROOOOOOSSSSS.  DRIVE FASTER!  We went straight to the bath without even saying hello. Then I passed off the baby to Aaron while me, the car seat, and some dawn dish soap got hosed down outside.  EWWWW.  Shudder.  Still not over it!

Once we were all clean, we could get on with the Dora the Explorer birthday extravaganza! The bounce house arrived shortly after we did which allowed the kids to bounce until it was dark outside.

Whitney and I were both a little under the weather which made traveling a bit harder. But we managed to have a great time despite quite a lack of sleep.  The best part about this weekend is that we didn't go anywhere.  We just huddled down and enjoyed the family.

We ate cookies for breakfast and got ready for the party at 10:00am.  The kids were practically clawing down the door to get into the bounce house.  Aaron got it up and the littles were bouncing by 9:00AM.  We spent the day bouncing and enjoying good food and good fun.  Lulu and Chase enjoyed the day and singing happy birthday.  It was a fun day for everyone!

Sunday we partied some more and we weren't surprised when we wore all the kiddies out.  What a fun weekend!
