We started the weekend at one of our new favorite play spots. It is an indoor playground just down the street. We met up with some friends to play. Perfect for a rainy day and reliable nap later on! The boys were wild!
Monday started my week with two. I had set up a little schedule of 1 activity per day for Chase, Whitney and I to get out of the house to do.
Monday we headed back to the indoor playground to run the little man into sheer exhaustion. He has a blast and I had even more fun with both kids napping. I felt like I could run the world. Two kids napping for HOURS at the same time! In the afternoon I was feeling so "powerful" that I spontaneously let Chase "cook" (stir some ice cubes in a bowl). Well that turned to adding about 46 ingredients (disgusting) and watching Chase light up in delight! He had a BLAST adding different ingredients, describing what he was "cooking" and even sampling his work (ewww).
Speaking of cooking. Chase has been helping water our growing broccoli. Our hope is that if he gets really involved, maybe he'll actually eat it too!
Tuesday we went to a little art class. Chase seemed to have a good time, but his attention span barely held for the 25 minute class. I was happy to be giving him new experiences without having to take care of the mess myself. The big highlight came upon our return home when we spied a cement mixer pouring a new sidewalk right next to our community. Chase was in 7th heaven to see an "Big ment-ment-mixer awake." Yep, it was a big moment. All the workmen were great and allowed him to get up really close to watch. His eyes were so big that they almost fell out of his head! Oh, and 2 babies napped at the same time again! Booya!
Wednesday I started to feel like maybe my super power were waning. I had to get all 3 of us packed and off to the beach. I wanted to time it for naptime and even movies and snacks couldn't keep Chase occupied. We were all melting down. The ride to the beach was a little slow with multiple stops to feed Whitney and a cranky toddler who was woken from his nap early.
We were so happy to be at the beach! Chase was happy to ride the golf cart and play in the sand. I was happy to get another set of hands to help with kid-management. And Whitney-- well she was just happy.
Grantudy had lots of fun activities planned. We goofed around, took a bunch of golf cart rides, baked cookies, danced, looked for shells on the beach, and just had fun making memories.
