This is our story. It might not be exciting to some, but we think it is THRILLING... most of the time. Life is flying by too fast and this is our attempt to stop and capture the good nuggets in our lives. You may notice a trend in these posts... it may have to do with our favorite little nuggets currently sitting center stage in everything we do, think, and live.

Hope you enjoy and leave a comment or two!

The first precious days

We are home!  We spent less than 48 hours in the hospital this time.  I remember staying 4 days with Chase and begging them to let me move in permanently.  I was not ready to do it on my own and so scared!  This time, totally different.  I asked to go home around 30 hours into it.  The nurses kept saying, "but wait, you are a C-section!.... but you look great. hmmm. Let me talk to the doctor."  I don't have many talents, but healing after surgery-- I am a pro! haha

The day after we got home, mom and I took Whitney to her first doctor's appointment.  The doctor gave her a perfect report, but we already knew that.  Whitney is almost back up to her birth weight, weighing 7lbs 9oz. She is our perfect perfect happy girl.  Other than a blocked tear duct causing a gooey eye, we grabbed some ointment and headed home to snuggle her some more.

Of course, with Grantudy here, she has been a cleaning fool... and I love it.  She just can't help herself, cleaning, organizing, planting flowers and broccoli in the garden.  And of course snuggling her newest grandbaby.

I am feeling really good, much better than the last time.  I didn't think my last C-section was much trouble, but I feel even better this time around!

Whitney is just so different from Chase... from her long dark hair, to her chubby cheeks, to this feeling and knowing that she will be a happy (non colicky) baby.  We are soaking up these early days, studying every feature, every tiny toe, every finger.  Time seems to be going faster.  This child is going to have to keep up and hold her own with her big brother and for some reason, time seems to be clipping by at an unusal fast rate.

Today we met up with our favorite photographer and dear friend Erin Scott to let her do her magic.  And MAGIC it was.  Whitney was deep in sleep, letting us mold her into the most precious and perfect baby poses.  Big brother Chase even cooperated!
