This is our story. It might not be exciting to some, but we think it is THRILLING... most of the time. Life is flying by too fast and this is our attempt to stop and capture the good nuggets in our lives. You may notice a trend in these posts... it may have to do with our favorite little nuggets currently sitting center stage in everything we do, think, and live.

Hope you enjoy and leave a comment or two!

Breakfast of champions- lots of syrup

Again a weekend of laying low.  Just a few more days until we get to meet our little girl!  My C-section is officially scheduled for Thursday March 8th at 11:30am!

This weekend we spent some time with friends.  Dinner with the Stokes at silver diner.  Chase and Logan always have such a fun time together.

Saturday morning we had soccer, followed by breakfast with the Horners.  We had to get one big breakfast in before baby arrived!  Chase and Colin destroyed the table with crayons, trucks, food, and syrup... lots of syrup.

After a big morning I took a little nap... but something was off when I woke.  I had blurry vision, a head ache, and my blood pressure was rising.  A call to the doctor confirmed what I already knew, I needed to go to the hospital immediately-- I was having signs of pre-eclampsia.  I have been doing weekly testing to watch for it since around 33 weeks (also the reason for the planned C-section).

Kevin stayed home with Chase and made plans in case he needed to meet me.  I cried on the way there.  Even though I was ready to meet her, I wasn't ready.  Things had been planned, I had a few more days, Grantudy was coming to stay with Chase... this isn't how it was supposed to happen.  Funny the things you wished for.  At the beginning of this pregnancy I wanted things to happen naturally and go into labor, but, now that things were planned-- I wanted to stick with the plan!

After an intense hour (lots of status texts with Kevin), the doctor gave me the all clear.  Whatever it was had stopped, and I had no signs of pre-eclampsia.  I returned home relieved and set my sights on Thursday.

Sunday night I wanted to squeeze one more memory out of the weekend, one more nugget of goodness as a family of three.  We went out to grab some ice cream.  The funny thing was, we had never gone to this ice cream store before, Chase has only had the vanilla or chocoalte soft serve... but on the way, I asked him, what kind of ice cream he wanted... he replied, "ummm blue!"  Well, sure enough they had blue ice cream (cotton candy flavored).  I made him taste it before he bought it since I didn't think he would like the flavor (I tried it and wanted to vomit).  The kid loved every bite of it.  To each their own (gag).
