This is our story. It might not be exciting to some, but we think it is THRILLING... most of the time. Life is flying by too fast and this is our attempt to stop and capture the good nuggets in our lives. You may notice a trend in these posts... it may have to do with our favorite little nuggets currently sitting center stage in everything we do, think, and live.

Hope you enjoy and leave a comment or two!

Getting out

Besides relying on a few opportunities when our families are in town, Kevin and I haven't used a babysitter yet.  GASP!  Chase is 16 months old and we are still either bringing him in tow and leaving early from events, or turning down fun dates all together.  Past of that is the sheer desire to be with him every minute we can, part of it is the guilt of sending him to daycare (albeit an awesome one!), and part of it is just that we haven't taken the time to trust someone new to watch him.  So when our good friend Jenna decided to celebrate her birthday at a winery for the day- we seized the day sucked it up and finally got a sitter.

So maybe we took baby steps.  Our sitter was actually Claudia from his daycare.  Chase was thrilled to see her and we were out the door in just minutes.

The winery was so much fun, especially with the massive gathering of Jenna's friends.

Of course there was our usual crew, but also a very welcoming group of new friends we got to meet.  We started off with a wine tasting up in a little 150 year old house that was toasty warm thanks to a huge fireplace.  Thanks to some connections, the winery had opened up their storage room for all of us, set with tables and chairs to host our birthday gathering.  The nice things about this winery is that recently it expanded to a brewery as well, so for the day, we got wine and beer tastings!

I am not sure it was a technical title, but the boys called it a Wewery! It was a lot of fun and the birthday girl seemed very happy.  We gorged on good food and delicious wines!
