This is our story. It might not be exciting to some, but we think it is THRILLING... most of the time. Life is flying by too fast and this is our attempt to stop and capture the good nuggets in our lives. You may notice a trend in these posts... it may have to do with our favorite little nuggets currently sitting center stage in everything we do, think, and live.

Hope you enjoy and leave a comment or two!

Camp G&G

What a fun week we are having.  With daycare on vacation, Grandma and Grampa have come to visit and take care of Chase.  I don't know who is having more fun?  G&G are 100% smitten with their little guy.  Hours are spent snuggling in Grandpa's perfect elbow nook playing with big fingers and tiny toes.  Chase and Grandma have long conversations about world peace and dancing with the stars "DA-da-da-da-DAAAA-DA-da-ba-ba-da" and mommy and daddy sit and watch the magic happen.  These are good times.

The magic is indeed happening.  Tiny hands reach forward and clumsy knees prop up and wiggly little body.  Deep blue eyes concentrate on a target toy and hands and knees work against one another to propel the little wiggly body forward. He hops and plops inches ahead of where he started.  He is learning to crawl.  Our little nugget is on the move.  His crawling style is a bit novice, but it works.  He gets up on all four then reaches out with his hands, bounces his Tigger-like knees forward together and smashes down on his face... then up on all fours to do it again.  He is too excited with his new found propulsion to pay attention to technique.  I expect nothing less than "wild-and-crazy" from our little man.

He is also beginning to cruise, taking one step side to side along the coffee table.  He mostly pics his foot up not knowing where to go and puts it right back in place, but one in a while he unknowingly takes a lateral slide!  he is also standing for long periods of time at his play and learn table, banging away at all the lights and sounds like a true boy!  He hasn't figured out pulling up yet, but is mad as hell that he can't, so that trick should come soon.  Nothing motivates like a frustrated baby!

We went out to dinner one night at new local spot touting southern cuisine.  Chase was the entertainment for the night.  He showed Grandpa is favorite game.  "Fetch!"

We are so happy that G&G get to witness it all.  They are beside him every second of the day, cheering him on a celebrating the wins!  Grandma gives us the full report of diapers, meals, naps times (down to the minute!) and of course, his big wins.  "He stood at the table for 20 minutes!  He petted Roxie! He said "bye" (that was maybe a stretch)!  He pooped twice!... (everything to G&G is an achievement)"  They are so proud of their grandson.  I am waiting for them to rent the billboard that announces... "He took two naps, ate 16 Cheerios and had two poops!  Chase Matthew is a genius!"  (and I would totally condone this behavior!).

The boy get the royal treatment.  G&G change diapers together. They go for 3 walks a day. They both sit on the floor and play with him every minute.  They swing outside and blow bobbles.  They both put him to bed.  I think someone is going to be a little spoiled.  And they wouldn't have it any other way....
