This is our story. It might not be exciting to some, but we think it is THRILLING... most of the time. Life is flying by too fast and this is our attempt to stop and capture the good nuggets in our lives. You may notice a trend in these posts... it may have to do with our favorite little nuggets currently sitting center stage in everything we do, think, and live.

Hope you enjoy and leave a comment or two!

Three cheers for the jumparoo

The weekend kicked off with a super clean house!  After a dusty project last week left the house COVERED in drywall dust, we hired a cleaner.  But not before I freaked out, cried and did a little hysterical dance.  I blame the lack of sleep.  Be real Hillary... sleep or no sleep... you would have freaked out.

WHY HAVE WE NOT HIRED CLEANERS BEFORE!!!!  It was amazing.  For $80 we had a totally clean house.  I am talking the inside of the window sill thingy (technical term), ceiling fan blades, every rung of Chase's crib.... everything was super clean.  There is just something about vacuum streaks in the carpet that get me excited.

Friday night we had some more swim lessons with Chase.  We might have jumped in the pool a little early because about 10 minutes into class Chase was shivering and we were outta there!  But not before he showed off his new swim trunks from Grandma.

I will pause while you salute the cuteness!

We had a fun weekend in store.  Saturday Chase and I danced around the house laughing and playing while wasting time before Katy arrived.  Katy brought Chase's new best friend.  He/she is still a few weeks from making their debut, but Chase is already planning their first juice-pong game. We met over at Laura's house with Chase's other best friend Colin.  There was lots of baby snuggling, laughing, and cooing.  Perfect day :)  We can't wait for Katy's baby to arrive and complete the fearsome threesome!

Sunday I took the early shift with our nugget of goodness who is so down with his routine that he greets weekends at 6:15AM.  Love him. usually.  So after some breakfast and bottle Chase did some jumping in the jumparoo whiled mommy chugged coffee and took pictures to send to all the grandparents.

While I was at the computer sending off a few of the best pics, I listened to a happy boy talking and bouncing.  I kept peeking around the corner to make sure he didn't learning how to climb out of the jumparoo and walk down the street (hey, knowing Chase- it could happen!).  But something even crazier happened.  I know, what's crazier than a 7 month old dismounting his jumper and walking down to the corner deli?  HE FEEL ASLEEP!!!  How in the $%&^ did that happen?  This kid had never fallen asleep without guzzling the sweet nectar of the gods and here he had bounced himself to sleep!  I knew this jumparoo was a good time, but now it's my best friend!  Baby Sandman?  Yes please.

It was so hilarious I had to wake Kevin up to see it.  Actually, I just wanted to wake Kevin up since it was 8:00AM and I had already been up for 2 hours.  After a successful transfer and nap in his crib, we headed to Leesburg to meet up with Kerri and Kristin at the Flower and Garden Festival.  It was such a gorgeous day and the flowers and street food really set us all in the right mood to welcome the beginning of summer fun.  Walking by the adorable exhibits while eating gyros and funnel cake is exactly the sort of thing I was looking forward to with nugget this spring.

Sunday night we treated ourselves to Ahi Tuna steaks on the grill.  But first, Kevin called me out to the deck to look at something.  I had a sinking feeling this "something" would involve buying a new grill (a certain someone has been telling me we need a new grill because it is just good to get a new one every few years.  Fat chance.).  We grill all the time, so I was begging for nothing to be wrong.  Somehow between Tuesday and Sunday, some birds decided our grill made a perfect spot for their love nest.  Sorry blue jay, ain't gonna happen.  After a quick clean out, we were in grilling business.  And the Tuna steaks.  Delish!
