This weekend we headed down to Richmond for some much needed family time with Aaron, Anna and Lucy and Grandtudy and Gramps. We had grand plans for lots of fun on Saturday, but after a restless night for Lucy with a cold we decided to take it slow. Grandtudy did however take the babies on a shopping spree. Chase is just about 7 months old (gasp) and finally starting to outgrow his 3-6 month clothes.
We spent the rest of Saturday loving on those babies. What a fun year it has been. It is amazing to see how our visits to Richmond have changed... but so much for the better. It is so fun to see the babes beginning to play with each other. They even "fought" over a toy, until Chase threw up on it and Lucy quickly gave up! haha. I guess that is one way to win the tug-of-war. He is such a boy.
Saturday night Chase got Lucy's cold. We were up all night with him and had our first middle-of-the-night run to the 24-hour CVS. Daddy came home with saline nose spray and baby Tylenol. As tired as we were, we felt somewhat proud that we handled the situation with ease. This was Chase's 4th or 5th cold (not counting the infamous hospitalization) and we no longer scare at a 100.5 temp or congested baby. Chase did really well too. Once we got him dosed up, he seemed to settle down and fight the cold.... but not before giving it to mommy (who is currently dying of a sore throat, snotty throat and ear pain!).
Sunday Anna and Aaron made a delicious "shore breakfast" fit for kings. A shore breakfast is something Gramps would make us growing up at the shore... we didn't usually have multiple breakfast choices at home so at the shore he would go all out with pancakes, bacon, sausage, waffles, eggs, biscuits etc.. It was fun to pig out in our pajamas family style with babies in laps and bare feet on the table. It won't be long before we'll be having shore breakfasts at Kenthaven before hitting the beach with the littles. Can't wait to see those toes in the sand. It was especially nice to think warm thoughts considering winter won't get the hint and dropped some snow on our spring morning.
