This is our story. It might not be exciting to some, but we think it is THRILLING... most of the time. Life is flying by too fast and this is our attempt to stop and capture the good nuggets in our lives. You may notice a trend in these posts... it may have to do with our favorite little nuggets currently sitting center stage in everything we do, think, and live.

Hope you enjoy and leave a comment or two!

Not the start to 2014 I was hopping for

I think my last post ended "Looks like this year if off to a great start"

Well, three nights ago while sitting in Kristin's hot tub, I was FREEZING.  And the next morning, I had the flu, I was sure of it.  A trip to urgent care confirmed it.

Fast forward to today, I picked the kids up and Nana greeted me with "aye aye aye. los ninos.... pobrecito..."  After three years at Nana's, I knew we were in trouble.  The kids were sick too.  I loaded the red eyed, lethargic, little ones into the car and called Kevin to meet us at the ER.

Upon arrival, I told them I was flu-positive and on medication.... we were escorted to an Isolation Room.  Not to be outdone by my flu, Chase tested positive for a respiratory infect and Whitney tested positive for RSV. You haven't lived until you've had the pleasure of a band of ER doctors in head-to-toe infectious barriers working up both your kids.  It was like a scene from Outbreak!

Somehow Kevin is still standing... let's hope he doesn't go down because were doomed.  Thank god for Daddy! I took myself to bed, absolutely unable to stand or function.

By late evening, we had decided to call in the big guns.  And by "big guns" I mean, the Grantudy.  Yep, Grantudy to the rescue.

Somehow, as sick as the kids were, we found ourselves making cookies.  That woman is amazing.  Not a visit goes by without making some sort of cookie confection.  I think we'll keep these and our germs, to ourselves.

RSV isn't getting this smiley baby down.  Nope, she carried on in her happy ways, playing an laughing while we were quarantined at home for a few days.
