This is our story. It might not be exciting to some, but we think it is THRILLING... most of the time. Life is flying by too fast and this is our attempt to stop and capture the good nuggets in our lives. You may notice a trend in these posts... it may have to do with our favorite little nuggets currently sitting center stage in everything we do, think, and live.

Hope you enjoy and leave a comment or two!

Calling for 8 inches of snow! Ahhh

It's snow time.  Finally this winter has caught up with us and the snow is currently falling outside.  We left Chase stay up to watch it and enjoy some hot chocolate.  I love our house, and the snow and silence of the street made the now more tedious job of shoveling a longer driveway all the more worth it!

I am not sure Chase was actually a big help. He was so excited to be helping Daddy shovel, but in actuality he split this time between throwing snow on already shoveled areas and catching snow flakes.  I guess for a 3 year old though, he was doing exactly what was expected of him.  Being a kid and loving life.

Of course, the next day was a snow day.  Whomp whomp.  Kevin desperately and carefully drove himself into work and left me trapped with 2 kids at home trying to also work.

We did have some highlights of the day... like the combination of a sheet fort and the unbelievable dry air making for some crazy hair!

Since Chase was home already, I siezed the opportunity during Whitney's nap to let him paint.  This has to be filed as one of the more daring and crazy mom moments I have attempted.  Also, it better get me cool mom points since Chase was so dang excited to help!

I have been painting a huge "C" in Chase's room per his request of a few inspiration pictures I showed him.  Every day since I have heard "when is my room getting my biiiiiiiig C? Over der on dat wall!"

Today was the day.  Actually I spent all weekend jerry rigging a projector to outline the "C".  Now it was time to fill it in.

Step 1: Step him down
Step 2: Repeat explicit instructions to go slow and stay in the lines.  over and over
Step 3: hold breath

Once the kids were back at Nana's, I finished it up. 5 coats of orange later!  But Chase and I are so happy with it.  It looks AWESOME!  This kid's room is turning out so cool!

Now he is already bugging me asking "when are we gonna do my stripes like in my old room."  Sheesh kid!  Give me a break!  My hands are still crippled.

Oh, and while I was at it.  I painted his closet orange too.  Love the pop of color!
