First for some milestones...
We moved Chase to his own room and crib when he was 6 weeks old. It was so hard for me and I was so scared of him in his big crib, alone, and so far away. But I wanted kids with good sleep routines and I needed the sanctity of our bedroom back.
Whitney has been sleeping well in the rock n' play which scared us that she wouldn't sleep as well when she was flat on her back in a big crib. The Rock 'n play keeps her all snuggled and warm.
This time around we bought an angel care monitor (monitors motion in the crib) for great peace of mind with her in her own room. She slept in her own room on Friday April 20th. Just the next night she slept for 9 hours straight!!! What a good girl! So proud of her and so thankful for my sleep! We were both bright-eyed the next morning :)
Lastly, she hit another milestone yesterday as we got to hear those first beautiful baby babbles. This girl likes to grunt. She grunts all the time. But yesterday Whit let out her first "Gaaaaahhh" and it was so so sweet. I think she surprised herself. We got to hear a few more throughout the day and we all loved it. It inspired Chase to try to give her a few tickles to make her laugh. She really isn't laughing yet, but he sure is! So sweet that he loves her so much!
She is really a great eater and I am so lucky I get to nurse her as planned. She is so easy going and will get to business wherever we are.
Now that Whitney has been here for a few weeks, I am trying to go out of my way to make special time for Chase. We have done a variety of things like shaving cream play, and touring all the big trucks in town.
We have also looked for ways for Chase to feel special by helping with Whitney. He doesn't hesitate to help when we ask and really lights up when feeding her. Oh, and he is comic relief when we are trying to get dressed and out the door...
Some other fun pictures from this week...
