This is our story. It might not be exciting to some, but we think it is THRILLING... most of the time. Life is flying by too fast and this is our attempt to stop and capture the good nuggets in our lives. You may notice a trend in these posts... it may have to do with our favorite little nuggets currently sitting center stage in everything we do, think, and live.

Hope you enjoy and leave a comment or two!

Visiting Great Grammy

Christmas is right around the corner and we packed up for our whirlwind trip to Ohio.  We barely had room for ourselves with all the presents we packed!

First on the list was Cleveland to see my Grammy.  The trip was uneventful.  Chase was such a good boy.  I have been feeling pretty terrible this pregnancy so I was happy to finally get out of the car.

On our way, we got a call from Grantudy and Gramps that Grammy was not doing well. They think she had a TIA and was not really responsive and quite weak.  We were meeting G&G and Jamie's house so once we got there, we took a break from driving to play with Jamie's new puppy and let Chase run around.

That afternoon we went to see Grammy.  We are so thankful for these visit and that she has gotten to see Chase each year.  We don't think she will be around for long, this might be our last visit and seeing her condition, I am not sure she will be with us when Spicy girl arrives.

We kept our visit short.  It was difficult to see her weak and frail.  Even though she has been in a nursing home for years now, she still got dressed every day, did her hair, and got her ruby red lipstick on before she would accept visitors. That was not the case this time.

After our trip to see Grammy we met up with all the aunts, uncles, cousins, and G&G to eat at melt.  A joint that serves heart attacks as a side dish to their melty, cheesy, huge sandwiches.  I could feel the heartburn before I sat down, but I had to try something.  Of course I got the spicy jalapeno buffalo sandwhich and it was just as I expected.  Delicious.  And I paid for it later.

We hung out with family the rest of the night at Jamie's trying to get Chase good and tired for our night in the hotel.  Yes, this was his first night in a hotel.  He is over 2 and we haven't tried this yet.  He loved riding the elevator, and pushing the luggage cart.  He didn't want to go to bed, but after some coaxing, he settled eventually.

Tomorrow we are off to Columbus to meet Mason and spend Christmas with the Homans!
