As a break from the overpriced mall Santa photos, we chose to support our local fire department which was hosting a Santa and fire truck fiesta. Let's be honest, we knew Chase talked a big game with the man in red, but when it came down to the face-to-face, we didn't have high hopes, so we figured at least the fire trucks would save the day from a total loss.
We teamed with the the Zienteks for moral support and gave it a shot. We warmed up by looking at the ambulance and talking up Santa across the room. Alex and his family went first, but Chase wouldn't be lured. We finally got Chase in the same frame as Santa, but he couldn't be farther from him. His entire little body leaned away, ready to flee. Though, after looking at the suspicious Santa in the picture, I guess I can't blame the little man!
We had big plans to go see the zoo lights, but it was so cold, rainy, and I was just so tired, that we called it a day. This Spicy baby girl is kicking my butt. I was never so tired and sick with Chase, but she is giving me a run for my money!
We spent the rest of the weekend decorating for Christmas, playing holiday music, and creating new traditions. Mom, Anna, and I made the cousins felt advent calendars that they can't decorate themselves. It kicked off as a bit hit with Chase. I think he is going to love adding one each morning before school.
In full holiday cheer, we snuggled down for Chase's first time watching the classic Frosty the Snowman... complete with hot cocoa and popcorn. He loved it. A memory was made. A new tradition is born.
