This is our story. It might not be exciting to some, but we think it is THRILLING... most of the time. Life is flying by too fast and this is our attempt to stop and capture the good nuggets in our lives. You may notice a trend in these posts... it may have to do with our favorite little nuggets currently sitting center stage in everything we do, think, and live.

Hope you enjoy and leave a comment or two!

Vacation week

We just got back from 9 days of vacation at the beach, and let me start off with.... I was SICK for 9 days.  Like really sick.  So this post may not be as extensive as one would think for a 9 day vacation.  There was a LOT of lounging (even more on my part), lots of sand and water play,  lots of ice cream, and a strong dose of ice cream and golf cart rides.  I only survived because Kevin and Grantudy and Gramps waiting on me hand and foot, and kept the little man happy and occupied!

When I wasn't sick, I was down at the beach with my boys soaking up the sun, sand, and peace that only Kent Haven brings.  Even while sick, I could feel my soul soak up the love and laughter of a special week with family.  I never take our family for granted.  We don't live close, so it is always special to have time with them.  Not only was Aaron, Anna, and Lucy down for part of the week, but Kevin's little sis, Megan made a last minute trip.  It was so fun to see her little pregnant baby bump!  And of course, this family isn't complete without our beloved Gkonos'!  Sarah was home all summer and I finally got a chance to catch up.

In additional to family time, Grantudy and I made Chase a little car play mat.   My boy is a car junkie and already has dozens of cars, trucks, trains, and construction vehicles. We customized "Chase Town" with all his favorite places: our house, Nana's house, Sweet Frog, fire station, and home depot of course.  He loved the mat and I loved that mom and I made it together!  So fun!

Vacation week includes many fun community events like the water ski showcase, bonfine with 'Smores, carnival and snow cones.  This week is what childhood memories are made of :)

No beach week would be complete without a trip to the ice cream store and lots of rides on the golf cart.  Lucy and Chase couldn't get enough of the "gop cart"!

Our week wrapped up with a trip just down the road to my old camp, my old stomping ground.  We drove past the dining hall and pool, circled my old cabins, and met a friend at the "Ad building" before heading down to the waterfront.  This is where my childhood still lives.  So many wonderful memories.  And I still have my name on the ski nailed to the waterfront shed proving I am still one of the few to pass the advanced waterskiing test.  Yes, I am still overly proud of that!
