This is our story. It might not be exciting to some, but we think it is THRILLING... most of the time. Life is flying by too fast and this is our attempt to stop and capture the good nuggets in our lives. You may notice a trend in these posts... it may have to do with our favorite little nuggets currently sitting center stage in everything we do, think, and live.

Hope you enjoy and leave a comment or two!

Happy bir-day Daddy

We are big into birthdays around here.  Not with tons of presents, or big plans, or even a night out.  No, we are big into birthday because we are big into singing and blowing out candles.  Birthdays used to be quite a production before kids.  We would try to find the perfect present, out-do our plans from the previous year, and in the end, just spend money.

Now, with kids, birthdays are about the anticipation of celebration, and the moments of the celebration itself.  So when I say we are big into birthdays.... we mean that we see them through the eyes of a 2-year-old.  It is the way his eyes light up at the word "cake,"  his giddy laugh in anticipation of singing, his wide eyes when we let him blow out the candles, and the sheer delight of doing it... over and over and over again ;)

So for Daddy's birthday, we got the smallest cake we could find, to go with the biggest smile our little boy could produce. I would say it was the perfect paring!

Oh and we sang "happy birf-day," seven times... and blew out the candles over and over until the wax was pooled in the frosting.  We are big into birthdays around here.
