Where did my baby go?

So I know "they" say our babies grow up way too fast so I have been trying to breath deep, go slow, and soak up every minute of every day.  But something happened while I wasn't looking.  My baby grew up.  I went away last week for a long weekend with the Ya Yas and Kevin sent me a video.

Chase was walking.  Not tiny shuffle steps falling into the lap of daddy.  Nope, he walked right across the family room to Kevin's open arms.  I was so excited, and a little sad that I wasn't there.  Wow, where did that come from.

The next day I got a text message, "Two more teeth are cutting through."   Wow, 2 more?  We are up to six!

When I got home Sunday, I clapped and cheered as my little man beamed with pride walking right across the room into my arms.  We celebrated one of the biggest milestones in his little life.  What a big boy!

Monday we told Nana at daycare all about Chase's big weekend.  Monday afternoon when Kevin got home with Chase, he dropped the biggest bomb.  Chase drank all of his milk from a sippy cup.  Just like that.  Cold turkey.  Chase gave up the bottle and hasn't looked back.

Where did my little baby go?  I am more sad than I expected.  I told Kevin that I felt like he didn't need me anymore.  Though I know that is far from the truth.  It was just the first of those moments when you see a page turn, he isn't a baby any more.  Chase is a toddler and his journey is just speeding up.

What an incredible adventure we are lucky enough to be living.
